"On the Road" Workshop with Nikos Economopoulos

"On the Road" is a series of workshops, combining spontaneous photography with the joy of the journey. They are organized for a limited number of participants, ranging from professional photographers to curious amateurs. Through the selection and discussion of the best images of the day, the participants will work towards developing their own photographic style and see their overall approach improve day by day.The aim is to guide the participants through technical, theoretical and aesthetic issues towards developing their own photographic style.

Istanbul offers a tremendous variety of photographic opportunities, from the crowded areas around the imposing historical monuments to the small streets and the Bosphorus bridges. As the gateway to the East, Istanbul combines the magic of the Orient with the blistering pace of the West.
Known local photographers often join the group, presenting and discussing their work as well as their own experience of the city.

The workshops are based on shooting during the day and editing during the evening. The use of digital photography is recommended as it facilitates the process of daily editing on the computer. Through the selection and discussion of the best images of the day, the participants will have the opportunity to see their technique and their overall approach improve day by day. The aim is to guide the participants through technical, theoretical and aesthetic issues towards developing their own photographic style.

Participants are welcome to bring into the first meeting portfolios of past work for a portfolio review.

Cost:
900 euro, (300 euro advance payment upon booking, 600 euro until two weeks before the workshop starts)

Workshop location:
The workshops will be taking place at the Fotografevi Gallery, near Galatasaray, Beyoglu.

Accommodation:
Hotel booking is independent. Should you wish to benefit from the special rates offered by the renovated Troya Hotel (60 euro per day/single room, including breakfast) or the good value Devran Hotel (30 euro per day/single room, including breakfast). Only 100m distance between the two hotels.
